"Rising Young Scholar in Visualization" initiative, launched by the Technical Committee on Visualization and Visual Analytics from the China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG-VIS), aims at providing a platform worldwide for outstanding young scholars in the visualization area to showcase their outstanding achievements, as well as establishing and encouraging academic exchanges. We sincerely invite outstanding postdoctoral, doctoral and master's students in the visualization and related fields to participate and share their latest research outcomes and experiences.

Postdoctoral, PhD and master's students in visualisation-related fields from domestic and overseas are eligible to apply, regardless of nationality. Applicants need to submit the application form, CV and two recommendation letters. Valid applicants will be juried by a review committee of established scholars in visualization and visual analytics, and no more than 20 qualified applicants will be shortlisted. The shortlisted candidates will receive a recognition certificate, be invited to give a presentation at the Rising Young Scholar in Visualization Talk Series, and be invited to attend the award ceremony at next year's China Visualization and Visual Analytics Conference (ChinaVis).

The Rising Young Scholar initiative accepts applications all year round, and applicants are reviewed and shortlisted three times a year, with the deadline for applications being 1 June, 1 October and 1 February, respectively. Please submit your application form and CV to csigvis_rys@163.com before the deadline, with the subject "[Rising Young Scholar in Visualization] + Your Name". The application form can be downloaded via thelinkbelow. Recommendation letters should be sent directly from the referees using their official email address, with the subject "[Rising Young Scholar in Visualization Recommendation] + Your Name".

The Technical Committee on Visualization and Visual Analytics from the China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG-VIS) is the first specialized committee on visualization and visual analytics in China. The committee aims to build a platform for direct communication and in-depth exchange between academics and industry practitioners in the visualization and visual analytics sector, discuss the research direction and opportunities in the era of big data, promote the development of associated disciplines and talent training, encourage the development and progress of related research and applications, and facilitate the formation of a new ecology of collaborative development among industry, academia, research and application in the field of visualization and visual analytics in China. The committee was established on 23 December 2017 and has attracted nearly 200 members from universities and industries globally.
