Abstract: In this presentation, I will introduce the usages of data visualization, Visual Analytics, and artificial intelligence in data analysis research from our visualization lab at Sejong University. I will also demonstrate how these techniques have been effectively applied in various fields, such as volume rendering, transportation, Gaze, EEG, missing data, and cable bridge safety diagnosis. Furthermore, I will present the objective of knowledge dissemination that we aim to pursue in data analysis.

Speaker Bio: YUN JANG received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Seoul National University, South Korea, in 2000 and master's and doctoral degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University in 2002 and 2007, respectively. He is a professor of computer engineering at Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea. He was a postdoctoral researcher at CSCS and ETH Zürich, Switzerland, from 2007 to 2011. His research interests include interactive visualization, volume rendering, visual analytics, VR, and data analytics.

The China Society of Image and Graphics, Technical Committee on Visualization and Visual Analytics (CSIG-VIS) is the first technical committee on visualization and visual analytics in China. The technical committee aims to develop a communication platform for stakeholders in academia and industry, to discuss the trends and opportunities in the era of big data, to promote the discipline development and talent cultivation, to push forward the research and applications in the related disciplines, and ultimately to build a sustainable ecosystem involving industry, universities, and other research institutes.
